Seppo Arponen

Seppo Arponen had a long career at Finnvera, the Finnish State-owned company providing export guarantees. Mr. Arponen, an industrial counsellor, retired from Finnvera's management group while in the post of business director in the autumn of 2006. He is best known for creating the success of the Oulun Kärpät ice-hockey team in his post as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the team, the most successful sports team in Finland in the 2000s, both in terms of sports and financially.
