Proventia helps the customers to respond to ever stricter emission restrictions in both the OEM and retrofitting markets. Our customers are leading machine and vehicle manufacturers and stationary engine manufacturers, as well as machine and vehicle importers and distributors. We retrofit power plants, boilers, ships and vehicles. We participate in low emission zone projects to improve the air of large cities, where filters are installed in vehicles and machines that are already in use.

But, above all, our clients benefit from our experience of both mobile and stationary engine emission control. Proventia's strong stationary SCR knowledge is utilized in mobile SCR applications, and Proventia's filter and oxidation catalyst technology know-how from heavy-duty applications is benefitting our stationary clientele.

Proventia is involved in a number of large development projects, such as those investigating the purification of the air in major European cities by installing efficient purifiers in public transport vehicles using second-generation biodiesel.

Health and environmental impacts of exhaust emission

Particulate matter (PM) and, especially, fine particles and nitrogen oxides (NOx) are the toxic pollutants produced during combustion. Particulate matter causes adverse health effects such as cardiac and respiratory diseases and even pre-mature deaths. Nitrogen oxides cause damage to lungs, vegetation and crops. NOx emissions can be linked to acid rain, eutrophication and climate change as well.
