Ships are one of the biggest NOx sources in this world. NOx emissions from ships cause eutrophication of the seas and lead to oxygen depletion and reduce fish and shellfish populations.
NOx tax & IMO Tier 3
The legislation for the marine sector is tightening in the near future. Norway has a goal to reduce the NOx emissions by 30,000 tons within 2011 with special NOx tax and funding. The International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Tier 3 directive with proper NOx limits will mean SCR technology for ships in 2016 .
Full speed ahead!
Ships often have very limited space available for emission control. Proventia tailors NOxBUSTER® to fit the most limited spaces. NOxBUSTER® not only reduces the harmful gases but also the noise without any impact on the engine performance. DPF and DOC can also be integrated with the NOxBUSTER®system as an option. NOxBUSTER®is suitable both for new and retrofit installations.
