Proventia Brightening Up the Future

Retrofit project Seoul, South Korea

In 2004, the Ministry of Environment in Seoul, South Korea launched a pilot project to reduce PM and NOx emissions by 50 to 70%.  The project targets over 1 million diesel vehicles in the Seoul Metropolitan Area.

The emission requirements for light- and medium-duty vehicles in Seoul are:

  • >50% PM reduction for medium-duty vehicles
  • >25% PM reduction for light-duty vehicles

Between 2004-2008, together with its partner SK Energy, Proventia delivered tens of thousands of emission control systems for smaller trucks in Seoul, South Korea, for projects to improve the quality of the city's air.

Proventia's emission control solutions for retrofit projects in Seoul were based on both DOC and pDPF, partial diesel particulate filter technologies. Both technologies have proved their efficiency in terms of costs and purification performance in a number of successful projects.
