Proventia will supply exhaust emission control   technology for Karadeniz Powership Co. Ltd. for their floating power plants, so called power ships. Karadeniz Powership Co. Ltd is a Turkish company specializing in the on-board mobile power plants.  Power ships are former freighters that are converted into floating diesel power plants. These mobile power plants are used to bring electricity to regions where the demand cannot be covered by conventional onsite power plants.

A single ship contains several diesel operated generating sets, the output capacity of which can be well over 100 MW. Proventia’s role in this project is to design and supply emission control solutions for these engines so that the energy can be produced in an environmentally friendly way. Thanks to their mobility power ships are gaining continued popularity within the power generating industry, Karadeniz has built and commissioned already a few power ships and within next years more than 10 power ships are to be built.
