Retrofit emission control system
Proventia NOxBUSTER
Proventia NOxBUSTER® DPF + SCR is an emission control system that can be retrofitted to heavy vehicles or machines already in use like buses, coaches, refuse collection vehicles, trucks and a variety of heavy-duty machinery. NOxBUSTER® reduces emissions up to Euro VI emission level in on-road use and up to Stage V in off-road use.

operation principle

Operation principle
The NOxBUSTER® system combines Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technologies for the best possible emissions reduction performance.
- A SCR system uses urea (AdBlue®) to reduce NOx over an SCR catalyst
- An integrated diesel particulate filter (DPF) for reducing particulate matter (PM), hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO)
- System includes all necessary components urea dosing system, urea tanks, mixers, lines, various sensors and a control unit that regulates the entire SCR operation
Telematics solution for realtime monitoring
Proventia PROCARE™ Drive
Proventia PROCARE™ Drive is a telematics solution designed for the continuous monitoring of the NOxBUSTER® system’s operation and emission reduction performance. This web-based tool excels in overseeing vehicles’ or machines’ exhaust aftertreatment systems, with a particular focus on SCR and NOx reduction performance.

Questions
Most heavy-duty diesel off-highway machinery, buses, trucks, and stationary generator sets can be retrofitted. However, the engine must be in good operating condition. Installers typically perform a baseline health check before retrofitting to ensure the engine is not consuming excessive oil or suffering from mechanical faults that could shorten the lifespan of the new emission control system.
Modern retrofit emission control systems include continuous monitoring systems that provide documented evidence of compliance with environmental regulations and Low Emission Zone (LEZ) requirements. For example, Proventia’s PROCARE Drive telematics monitors exhaust gas temperatures, back pressure, and real-time NOx reduction rates (g/km) via the CAN bus. This data is securely logged and can be exported as reports for regulatory authorities, fleet operators, and construction site compliance documentation.
A factory-installed OEM system is integrated into a machine during manufacturing, whereas a retrofit system is installed on existing equipment after it has entered service. Advanced retrofit systems use the same core technologies as OEM solutions and can achieve comparable emission reduction performance.
A high-quality retrofit system is designed to operate throughout the remaining service life of the machine when properly maintained. Stainless-steel structures and robust catalytic components provide long-term reliability, even in demanding operating environments.
