Mastering AdBlue® Mixing Testing

Efficient NOX reduction depends on precise AdBlue® (DEF/urea) injection and uniform ammonia distribution. At Proventia, we provide advanced AdBlue® mixing testing to ensure optimal SCR functionality, reliability, and compliance with emissions standards.

Our unique AdBlue® testing system features:

  • An online camera system to monitor the injection area in real-time 
  • High-resolution scanning device to validate NH₃ distribution in exhaust gas stream

Durability testing

In harsh off-highway environments, components are constantly exposed to mechanical and thermal stress. At Proventia, we ensure our systems can handle the pressure – day after day, job after job. Our durability testing program is designed to test long-term performance and structural integrity through rigorous test methods. 

Each test is documented, analyzed, and reported to support product development, compliance, and customer confidence. 

Our comprehensive testing program includes, but is not limited to, the following durability tests:

We measure acceleration, strain, and temperature using Siemens LMS SCADAS™ and LMS Test.Lab™, including Mission Synthesis, for in-depth analysis of real-world driving events. 


Output includes: 

  • Lifetime Equivalent Bending Moment 
  • Lifetime & Accelerated PSD 

Hot Shaker Testing

Hot Shaker Testing 

We validate mechanical durability using accelerated vibration testing based on RLDA-derived PSD profiles, replicating real-world conditions. 

  • The system is heated to operational temperature with continuous monitoring.
  • Tests include sine sweep (for fatigue and modal analysis) and shock testing (for transient event resistance). 

Bending Moment Testing 

Bending Moment Testing 

We validate the durability of inlet/outlet connections using fatigue-equivalent bending moments based on RLDA data or customer specs. 

  • The test applies a fatigue equivalent bending moment to replicate the fatigue damage caused by lifetime usage in the field.
  • We assess damage levels and their distribution by comparing real-life field data with the results of the bending moment test.

Thermal Shock Testing 

Thermal Shock Testing

This test demonstrates the product’s resistance to thermo-mechanical fatigue. 

  • High-stress areas are identified using TMA (Thermo-Mechanical Analysis) simulations. 
  • The system is heated to the required temperature, with adjustable mass flow to match target conditions. 
  • Water quenching can be included as an optional part of the test.

Substrate Retention & Push-Out Testing 

Substrate Retention & Push-Out Testing 

This test ensures that the mat and canning provide sufficient strength under various load conditions, such as shock, vibration, and thermal stress. 

  • We employ dedicated transducers to measure the force and movement applied to the substrate. This enables us to verify that the mat ensures strong and reliable retention, even for aged substrates under both cold and hot conditions.

We assess the structural integrity of components before and after validation testing using methods such as: 

  • Visual inspection 
  • Leak rate testing 
  • Dye penetrant inspection 
  • 3D scanning
  • Optional: Destructive weld testing upon request

We conduct corrosion resistance tests, such as salt spray tests, in accordance with the SFS EN-ISO 9227 standard.
