Proventia has committed to setting near-term emissions reduction targets and a net-zero target in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Proventia’s short-term goal is to halve the company’s operational emissions by 2030, starting from the base year 2023. The net-zero target by 2050 covers the entire company’s supply chain. The company’s commitment is listed on the SBTi website under the “Companies Taking Action” section.
“Sustainability is essential to Proventia’s values, strategy, and daily operations. We actively work to reduce our own operational emissions and help our customers achieve their sustainability goals by offering advanced solutions for emission reduction and energy efficiency. Our commitment to SBTi targets means that we will submit our targets to SBTi for evaluation within the next 24 months. SBTi validation ensures that our targets are effective and aligned with global climate goals”, says Proventia’s CEO Jari Lotvonen.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a globally operating organization that provides companies with guidance and tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. SBTi guides companies in setting science-based emission reduction targets to prevent the worst impacts of climate change.
