Over 30 years of creating cleaner tomorrow

For over 30 years, our vision of a greener future has directed Proventia’s business decisions.

1994: Birth of the company

Proventia’s predecessor, Finnkatalyt Oy, was established, focusing on developing and manufacturing exhaust aftertreatment systems for small petrol engines.

2000: Proventia Group begins operations

Proventia Group began operations as a development company with subsidiaries in environmental, energy, and other clean technologies. Finnkatalyt became one of these subsidiaries. During this period, Finnkatalyt shifted its focus from emissions control of small engines to emission control for heavy vehicles and machinery.

2007: Proventia Emission Control enters the fray

Finnkatalyt was renamed Proventia Emission Control. The following year, Proventia Technology Center was opened in Oulu, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth.

2012: Focus on emission control

Proventia Group divested other business operations to focus exclusively on emission control.

2015: Proventia expands

Proventia continued expanding its business in 2015 with modular test solutions and thermal components.

2017: Renaming to Proventia Oy

Proventia Emission Control was renamed Proventia in 2017.

2018: Expansion to Czech

The company further expanded its footprint in 2018 by establishing Proventia Czech s.r.o in the Brno region, dedicated to manufacturing exhaust aftertreatment systems and components for OEM manufacturers.

2024: Expansion of the factory

Proventia expanded its factory in the Czech Republic. The 7,000 m² production space covers the manufacturing of exhaust aftertreatment systems and thermal components.

2025: Expansion of the technology center

Proventia expands its Technology Center in Oulu, Finland. The 2,000 m² expansion will include office space, product development, and pilot production areas especially for battery system development.

Today, Proventia employs about 180 professionals across Finland and the Czech Republic, continuing its legacy in clean technologies.
